Monstrosity is a three-day larp that offers you the freedom to play a monster as realistically as you like, an erotic story of a vampire and a victim. Our "tools, not rules" philosophy empowers you to play as you wish, while our emphasis on active and continuous consent promotes respect and communication amongst all participants. The result is a larp where you can tell your bloody and erotic story in an environment of trust and mutual respect.
Note - Monstrosity - Sweden has a few design differences from its American runs, mostly regarding sign-ups. While the information contained on the rest of the website is useful, if you find something that contradicts anything on this page, the information here is correct. You can also see Design Changes, below.
Content Notice
Monstrosity is an erotic horror larp that includes situations of violence, non-consent and death; as a participant, you can expect to encounter (and participate) in situations with nudity, sexual activity, fake blood, realistic portrayals of violence, the presence of alcohol and the presence of objects that could cause physical harm. As a live event, you will be in close quarters with other people, and we ask you to consider your health needs and precautions as you consider this event. The physical activity of Monstrosity occasionally leads to soreness and/or bruising; please consider this in your post-larp plans. You must be at least 18 years old to play Monstrosity-Sweden.
Description of Play
Participants will play in pairs: one vampire, one human. The two of you will play with about twenty other participants for three nights. The first night will be an out-of-role party where everyone gets to know each other, the second and third night will be in-role. In addition, you’ll have workshops during the day; during the workshops, you'll create the character you'll play during the larp and calibrate with other participants.
When the larp begins, humans will arrive ignorant of the fate that awaits them… they’ll think they’re either going to a sexy party or a networking event. The vampires soon reveal themselves, feeding upon the humans and revealing their fate: some humans might become vampires themselves, while the rest will be sucked dry by the end of the night. The only way to survive is to win favor with the vampires through their cruel games, and in the end, no one - vampire or human - leaves the party unchanged. ​

Time Commitment
This is a three-day larp, designed to fully prepare you to play with little work before you arrive. We do have three online events prior to the larp to help set expectations. We ask you to make at least one of these three events.

Once accepted into the larp, we’ll schedule a 30-minute “Two-On-One” with you, your partner, and an organizer to explain more about the event.

We’ll schedule a 60-minute online discussion for both humans and vampires.

We’ll have one full cast hang-out prior to the event to get to know each other.
Once you arrive at the larp, we ask you to respect everyone’s time and attend all parts of the event. This will include the out-of-role welcome party the first night at 2000. Each day before we play, you can expect up to three hours of workshops to help prepare you for the night. These workshops will take place between lunch and dinner (assume you’ll be busy between 1230 to 1700 for scheduling purposes). The larp itself starts at 1930 pm each night and ends shortly before midnight.
Sign-Ups
Monstrosity - Sweden will use a three step process to cast the larp:

First, you fill out the application by September 26, 2025. You can sign-up with or without a partner.

We’ll send out the partner & flagging form shortly after, you have until October 10, 2025 to fill it out. This process will not only include flagging, but allow individual applicants to find a partner.

We’ll review the applications and the partner & flagging submissions, and notify you of the results no later than October 17, 2025.
After you’re notified, you’ll have until October 25, 2025 to make your first payment (you may pay via lump sum or in four installments).
Important - If you explore the rest of the website, please ignore any instances of the phrase “Invited, Accepted, Partnered.” We will not use this process for Monstrosity - Sweden.
Accommodations & Meals
Monstrosity - Sweden provides lodging Monday through Wednesday nights. Expect to stay in our out-of-role area (Ladhus 1); some participants may have rooms adjacent to the play area (Ladhus 2), these rooms will not be used during play. You’ll either share a large bed with your partner in your own room, or have your own bunk in a room with four other people.
The larp is catered, and we will provide three meals on Tuesday and Wednesday and snacks during play. A menu will be provided prior to the larp and we will attempt to accommodate dietary restrictions to the best of our ability.
Payments
Payments will be made via the Sinking Ship Creations website using a major credit card. Participants can coordinate for alternate arrangements if they would like. The price of the tickets will be:

€500 for a standard ticket

€275 for a subsidized ticket. We’re offering two subsidized tickets before sponsorship

€625 for a sponsor ticket. Every two sponsor tickets allow us to add another subsidized ticket
Travel
Our venue is located 10 minutes by car from Floda Station and 30 minutes from Gothenburg-Landvetter Airport. Floda Station is about 30 minutes from Gothenburg Central Station.
Discretion
Discretion is important to everyone involved in Monstrosity. If you participate, we ask you to trust that no one involved will discuss details of the larp that could cause harm, and we trust you to refrain from doing the same.
What sort of details can cause harm?

Sharing the names of people who participate with anyone who hasn't played.

Discussing specific activities that occurred without the permission of the people involved.

Taking any photographs during the events.

Alcohol
We will provide alcohol in limited quantities for this larp (2 - 3 glasses of red wine a night). Please do not bring your own during play; however, feel free to bring beverages to share with other participants at the afterparty.
Accessibility
We strive to make Monstrosity as accessible as possible, and we ask that you share any questions or concerns you may have with us - you’re the expert on your needs. If you require reasonable accommodations, you’ll have the opportunity to request a consultation as part of the application. This will not affect your application; we’re committed to supporting all reasonable accommodations and will coordinate with you after you join the cast.
Design Changes
Monstrosity - Sweden has the following design changes from previous iterations of the larp:

Sign-Ups are significantly different. We will utilize a partner & flagging system and everyone will have a partner when accepted into the larp.

This run includes catering; all meals will be provided.

This run will not include significant scenic elements (i.e. large alterations to the venue); the venue was selected for its aesthetic suitability.

Certain technical elements (specific props, lighting, etc) may be changed due to logistical limitations.
We will strive to inform all participants of changes from previous iterations. At the time of the larp, Monstrosity will have been run 9 times including playtesting, previews, and full runs.
