A variation is a run of Monstrosity where we change something from our classic design. This might be a different location, a new twist in the narrative, or an alteration made for a new audience. In any case, while they might not have the production values of our Atlantic City runs, each variation still brings you the Monstrosity experience, just with a little something unique.
In 2027, we're pleased to bring you three variations: Monstrosity: Dark, Monstrosity: West Coast, and Monstrosity: 1999. Learn more about these variations below and on their individual pages.
February 4 - 6, Atlantic City
For Black History Month, we bring you Monstrosity: Dark - a People of Color focused run of Monstrosity. Taking place in an old-style suite in Atlantic City, this variation is reserved for PoC and their guests. While rooms will not be included, this run of Monstrosity is on us: all tickets will be $0, though non-PoC guests may make an optional donation of up to $700 if they choose. All primary roles - the Lead Facilitator, Participant Advocate, Host and Honored Guest - will be performed by PoC.
March 18 - 20, San Francisco
We’re taking our larp to San Francisco as we partner with locals to bring you Monstrosity: West Coast. Folling in the tradition set by our Berlin and Sweden runs, we’re prioritizing new participants as we reach out to the West Coast community. This event is a true variation; we're renting out a historic BDSM club in the heart of San Francisco. Tickets cost $700, and the larp uses our Invited-Accepted-Partnered method to apply.
April 29 - May 1, Atlantic City
Ever hear about that incident in Berlin where the Host and Honored Guest killed everyone? It’s time to tell that story. Monstrosity: 1999 is a historical larp set 28 years ago, and in this variation we show everyone what “the worst that can happen” really is. Taking place in an old-style suite in Atlantic City, tickets cost $700, rooms not included. Open to alumni and their guests.
Playing in a variation makes you eligible for a full run.
Monstrosity returns with three full runs in November 2027, and playing in a variation allows you to early acceptance to a run of your choice. Spots are limited, so please review the early bird policies on any of the variation pages for details.
